Review: Chanel Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection

At Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, Karl Lagerfeld chose to transform the runway into a fairytale forest, complete with a snow-covered floor and green shrubbery. The location of the event, the Grand Palais, worked perfectly with the enchanting collection, reminiscent of wintery woodland scenes from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The collection began with tailored tweed jackets of a sparkling ivory and dresses of clean-cut silhouettes. Models then glided along the runway, draped in gowns of the finest lace and silk, and adorned with feathers, glitter or bold floral designs. The show closed with two models dressed in delicate wedding gowns with white, feathered headdresses and a small pageboy, also dressed in white, by their side. The collection has been greatly praised, proving that the ‘king-of-fashion’, Karl Lagerfeld, is still the best in the business.  To see the rest of the Chanel Haute Couture 2013 Collection, click here.

Snejana Onopka by Daniel Jackson

Snejana Onopka photographed by Daniel Jackson

I love the dreamy and soft pink hues of this photo shoot, don't you? It almost makes me want to dress up like a forest fairy myself! I must also apologise for my recent lack of posts, I'm going away for over a month to Europe soon so preparing for my big trip has pretty much consumed all of my time lately (on top of university and work...) Xx

A Spooky Update

Well, it's not really a super spooky update haha, but I wanted to make a short post about these cute little Halloween brooches I've started making. We don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia, but once I started sewing together these felt Halloween-themes brooches, I just couldn't stop myself! The good news is, I'll be adding them one by one to my Etsy shop, so if you're interested in purchasing one please head on over there and have a look :) I've already completed a cat one (as a gift for a friend though) and a bat one which will be for sale, and the next few brooches will include a jack-o-lantern, a ghost, another bat and possibly a witch, so check by my Etsy in the next few days if you're interested in one of these!

Photographer: Laura Makabresku

Untitled We are so lonely here, on an august moon. We are falling asleep hidden in a graves covered with cold flowers. We are waiting for a comet to arise. It was cold, winter morning. I observed through the window how she got out of the cab. I opened the door and for the first time I saw her gentle eyesight - eyes cold as they were a frozen ocean. Then I allowed her sleepy body to lay down on my bed. first signs of winter sun

How beautiful are these photographs by the very talented Laura Makabresku? I came across one of her works on Tumblr and feeling quite intrigued, I clicked on the link only to open up a whole photostream of photographs that are just so mesmerizing and slightly haunting but in the most beautiful way. There's nothing I enjoy more sometimes than stumbling upon a photographer whose work inspires me this much! Plus, did I mention she has an amazing blog too? What do you think about these photographs? - I'd love to hear your thoughts :)

Size 6 Open-Toe Wedges
Puff-Sleeve Tiny Hearts Dress
Vintage Look Floral Envelope Clutch
Red Crochet Long Vest

Running an Etsy shop is very much a part-time thing for me - I wish I had more time to put into it, traveling around rummaging through op-shops and thrift stores is my dream! However, a full-time university course gets in the way, plus a part-time writing job...sigh* Anyhow, here are some new items I have added to my store. The best bit? They're all under $25! Bargain :)

I love Lana Del Rey's songs, so when a photo shoot titled 'Summertime Sadness' came my way, I couldn't help but click on it to view more. I found them here, but lucky for us Amy has a blog full of all her amazing photographs, so you can scroll until your hearts content! Let me know what you think, and enjoy your weekend! :)
